Panel to discuss issues surrounding a free press

 

 

Two journalists will discuss a free and unbiased media at 7 p.m., April 12, at the Unitarian Universalist Church on Shire Lane in Fort Myers.

The discussion is titled “Stop the Presses: Are Journalists Still Relevant,” and was organized by the Lee County OFA lndivisible (leeofaindivisible@gmail.com).

The journalists are Robert Hilliard and Roger Williams.

Mr. Hilliard worked professionally in radio, television, theater and journalism. Many of his 35 books and 20-plus plays deal with political and social issues.

Mr. Williams writes a weekly column for Florida Weekly and formerly worked as a reporter for The News-Press. He is an award-winning journalist and winner of the Jon A. Roosenraad Award for defense of the First Amendment.
