Try these five tried-and-true ways to grow small businesses

National Small Business Week is April 30 through May 6, making it a great time to help small businesses grow. Most entrepreneurs have invested a lot into their small business and want them to succeed, but they may not always know how to connect with the right resources to make it happen. Kesi Gibson created Club Debut to provide turn-key business infrastructure solutions to entrepreneurs, with a keen focus on the creator economy.

“We have worked with companies at various stages, and whether it is a completely new fashion brand like The ONE Collection or a growing dog and decor brand like Saint Ernie, the tools required for success are very similar,” says Ms. Gibson.

Product and service knowledge relevant to a venture is key to running that venture well. However, an understanding of how to select and effectively use resources, including technology to maximize one’s objective, is paramount to entrepreneurial success, especially in the growth stages. Here are five growth strategies Ms. Gibson suggests for small businesses:

¦ Clarify your objective. Your objectives will change over time, and that’s okay, but you have to keep up with what they are. You will only know if you have reached goals by having clear objectives in the first place.

¦ Build a significant online presence. Many business owners kick off their entrepreneurial journey with a virtual business, while others use their online presence to support their physical or hybrid business. Regardless of the strategy, a focus on digital marketing to create awareness, engagement and community is a perquisite for success in today’s digital world. You can be an amazing designer, photographer, actor, or artist, but if nobody knows your company exists, it won’t matter.

¦ Augment your weaknesses. Focus on what your company’s talent pool is skilled at doing; but invest in finding good key resources that you can work with in a consistent but flexible way to accommodate your staff augmentation needs.

¦ Connect the dots. Synergies create tremendous value and opportunities that may not have otherwise been obvious. Be intentional about connecting dots to extract value.

¦ Let your work sell itself. Aim to provide a good product or service every time you get the opportunity to. Every good experience with a customer has the possibility to lead to other possibilities.
