Volunteers from six local builders will join forces for a one-day blitz to construct wheelchair ramps at the homes of six disabled individuals.
The Ramps Up! event is sponsored by Builders Care, the charitable agency of the Lee Building Industry Association.
Volunteer builders – MW Johnson Construction Inc., Lennar Homes, R.A. Jensen Inc., A.D.A Construction, Lutgert Development and Harden Homes – will gather on Saturday, April 28 at Red Sox Stadium for a rally and assignments. The rally will include a game of hoops pitting the builders against the Gulf Coast Barracudas, a professional wheelchair basketball team. The builders will then disperse throughout Lee County to build ramps for needy elderly and disabled homeowners who cannot get safely in and out of their homes.
