The Arts Academy at EdisoState College is offering a new menu of classes designed for the art enthusiast. From sculpture to print, to digital movie making and beyond, the Arts Academy brings local, regional and national experiences into the classroom.
Upcoming courses include:
Jewelry Metalsmithing For Beginners
• This six-week class will be held on Mondays, Aug. 2-Sept. 6, 6 to 9 p.m. and Tuesdays, Aug. 3-Sept. 7, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Introduction to Figure and Portrait Sculpture
• This seven-week class will be held on Mondays, Aug. 2-Sept. 13, 6 to 9 p.m.
Introduction to Digital Audio Production and Sound Design
• This seven-week class will be held on Mondays, Aug. 2-Sept. 13, 6 to 9 p.m.
Introduction to Relief Printmaking
• This eight-week class will be held on Tuesdays, Aug. 3-Sept. 21, 6 to 9 p.m.
Knitting for Beginners
• This two-week class will be held on Wednesdays, Aug. 4-Aug. 11, 6 to 8 p.m.
Jewelry Metalsmithing Advanced
• This six-week class will be held on Thursdays, Aug. 5-Sept. 9, 1:20 to 4:30 p.m.
Painting Fundamentals: Acrylics
• This eight-week class will be held on Thursdays, Aug. 5-Sept. 9, 6 to 9 p.m.
Jewelry Metalsmithing Intermediate
• This six-week class will be held on Thursdays, Aug. 5-Sept. 9, 10 a.m to 1 p.m. or 6 to 9 p.m.
Glass-Fusing Workshop
• This four-week class will be Fridays, Aug.6-Aug. 27, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
3-D Abstract Sculpting Sculpting with Fabric and Paper “Sitting Figure”
• This two-week class will be held Saturdays, Aug. 7-Aug. 14, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Calusa Crafts and Primitive Technology
• This six-week class will be held on Saturdays, Aug. 7 to Sept. 11, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Creative Clay
• This six-week class will be held on Mondays, Aug. 9-Sept. 13, 1 to 4 p.m.
Drawing fundamentals: Colored Pencil
• This six-week class will be held on Tuesdays, Aug. 10 to Sept. 14, 6 to 8 p.m.
Art Appreciation
• This eight-week class will be held Tuesdays, Aug. 10 to Sept. 28, 5:30 to 7 p.m.
