SoCo Second Saturday art event returns June 10

Another artful night will be held at the cultural district of SoCo from 6-10 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, at Royal Palm Square.

SoCo Second Saturday is the new arts and cultural event in Fort Myers. SoCo refers to the area south of Colonial Boulevard.

The monthly SoCo Second Saturday event features interactive events, exhibitions, demos and a redesigned map that includes all of the night’s attractions and the details on how to win a prize from one of the participating SoCo cultural venues.

Artists, patrons of the arts and guests can enter the contest for a prize by collecting a golden tickets from participating venues. The winner will be announced one week after the event on the event’s Facebook page.

June’s participating SoCo venues are: Alliance for the Arts, DAAS CO-OP Art Gallery & Gifts, Ocasiocasa, The Union Artist Studios and Crafted, Catch 22, Yoga Bird, Living Vine Café, A Swedish

Affair, Broadway Palm Dinner Theater, Suzanne’s Dance Fitness, Studio Os Urbanos and City of Palms Studio.

An open mic performance, coordinated and sponsored by Yoga Bird, is scheduled for the night. The musicians will play near DAAS CO-OP Art Gallery in the Royal Palm Square.

The SoCo Cultural District location encompasses the block south of Colonial Boulevard from the corner of McGregor Boulevard to Summerlin Road, to Royal Palm Square Boulevard and back to McGregor. The area is walking-friendly or there is plenty of parking at Royal Palm Square and the Alliance for the Arts. More information about the event and the map are available at socoswfl.com. ¦
