Lake Michigan Credit Union launches 5th annual $25,000 Home Makeover Giveaway

Lake Michigan Credit Union has begun its annual home makeover giveaway, featuring LMCU spokesperson Carter Oosterhouse. The sweepstakes runs through May 22.

Last year’s $25,000 giveaway generated a record 353,620 entries — submitted both online and by in-branch paper entries — and was won by Anita Erickson of Grand Rapids, Mich.

This year’s giveaway can be entered online at lmcu.org, or personally at any LMCU branch location and most native ATMs. Entrants can also increase their odds when friends enter the giveaway through a FaceBook link.

The giveaway is open to the public, and will conclude with a single grand prize drawing to be held in late May.

“Carter Oosterhouse is a great spokesperson for LMCU,” said Don Bratt, senior vice president of marketing. “He understands the importance of value and has long been focused on improving people’s lives by promoting the right tools and innovative techniques. That philosophy is a solid, direct mesh with our focus on delivering value through superior products and services. This is a very natural partnership that we value a great deal.”

Mr. Oosterhouse has appeared on many popular television series. His career as a carpenter began at the age of 12 as an apprentice to his neighbor. He continued to work in carpentry and construction throughout school, following in the footsteps of his older brothers (Todd and Tyler), who are also carpenters. Mr. Oosterhouse has a B.A. in nutrition and communication from Central Michigan University, and is married to actress Amy Smart.

Mr. Oosterhouse is also the founder of Carter’s Kids, an organization dedicated to building and developing community parks and playgrounds in low-income areas in an effort to promote healthy living.

Founded in 1933, LMCU’s assets exceed $4.6 billion, with a mortgage serviced portfolio of over $6 billion. LMCU now has over 376,000 members and 39 branch locations, including in Bonita Spring and Naples. For more information, see www.lmcu.org. ¦
