The Early Learning Coalition of Southwest Florida has named Patricia Young as a new member to its board of directors. Ms. Young serves as the director of operations for Redlands Christian Migrant Association.

Gulf Coast Village Executive Director Kevin Ahmadi has been named regional director for Volunteers of America, the parent organization of Gulf Coast Village. A national nonprofit faith-based organization, Volunteers of America was founded in 1896 and is one of the nation’s largest nonprofit providers of affordable housing for seniors and a provider of professional long-term care including assisted living, home health care and nursing home care. Mr. Ahmadi also serves as president of The Rotary Club of Cape Coral Goldcoast and as a trustee on the board of directors of the Cape Coral Chamber of Commerce.

Former Minnesota Twins farmhand Steve Singleton has been named as Florida SouthWestern State College’s first assistant baseball coach. Mr. Singleton joins the FSW staff after a six-year minor league playing career, in which he reached the AAA level in 2011.

Building & Development

Clark Leaming has been appointed to the position of land development manager at Miromar Development Corp. He has more than 25 years of experience in all phases of land development and construction. Most recently, he was the Land Development Manager for WCI Communities in Bonita Springs.

Law

Ita Neymotin has been awarded the Distinguished Alumnus of the Year Award by Capital University Law School. She is regional counsel with the Office of Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel of the Second District Court of Appeal Region of Florida.


SINGLETON SINGLETON The law firm of Attorney Carlos A. Kelly, a stockholder in the Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, P.A.’s commercial litigation practice group, has been re-appointed to The Florida Bar’s Eminent Domain Committee. This will be his ninth year of service on the committee.

Commerce

The Bonita Springs Area Chamber of Commerce recently promoted Natalie Gagnon to operations coordinator. With her promotion, Ms. Gagnon will be working under the direction of the president and CEO. She will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the chamber, office procedures, volunteer management, building maintenance and repair, and policies and procedures oversight.

LEAMING LEAMING Don Gross has joined Spiro & Associates Marketing, Advertising & Public Relations in Fort Myers as media director. Mr. Gross is a former commercial real estate professional, specializing in retail, negotiating large acquisitions for investors. He also was a financial advisor for several years specializing in private wealth management. Additionally, he has worked in media and sales in the radio, broadcast TV and cable TV markets in Southwest Florida.

Jeff Hickcox has been named as the new director of event programming at Six Bends. With more than 25 years of radio and concert event experience, he will plan and oversee all events taking place at The Plaza, The Pit and Top Rocker Field, as well as supporting Six Bends Harley-Davidson. Most recently he was the director of promotions at Beasley Broadcast Group Southwest Florida and later the promotions director for iHeartMedia.


NEYMOTIN NEYMOTIN Banking

Terrie Pearman has joined Encore Bank as vice president, residential mortgage officer. She brings more than 40 years of mortgage lending experience in the area to the bank. Ms. Pearman will work out of the company’s Fort Myers office.

Sanibel Captiva Community Bank has named Kristin Marks customer service representative for its new Myerlee location. She is responsible for assisting customers with opening and servicing their accounts, wire transfers and online banking.

Health Care

Kiet Anh Doan, D.O. recently joined the professional staff of Lee Physician Group – General Surgery. Dr. Doan earned his medical degree at the Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, Calif. He completed a general surgery residency at Michigan State University Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc, Mich.


KELLY KELLY He is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery. His areas of expertise include laparoscopic surgery – colon, hernia, cholecystectomy, spleen, appendix; oncology surgery — breast, melanoma with sentinel lymph node; thyroid and parathyroid surgery; and robotic surgery.

Lesley P. Furman, M.D. recently joined the professional staff of Lee Physician Group – Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Furman earned her medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Pittsburgh. She is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her areas of expertise include health gynecology, menopause, gynecologic surgery, abnormal pap tests, contraception and obstetrics.


GAGNON GAGNON Insurance

Shawn Kay has joined the staff at BB&T-Oswald Trippe and Company as a customer service representative in the company’s Miami office. Mr. Kay joined BB&TOTC after completing his training with Disabled Veterans Insurance Careers, a nonprofit organization with the mission to educate, train and create meaningful employment opportunities within the insurance industry for disabled veterans.

Tourism

The Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau has appointed Anna Stone as its new director of sales. Ms. Stone has spent a decade in the hospitality industry and has regional director expertise. Most recently she worked as a national sales manager at Embassy Suites Charleston Convention Center in Charleston, S.C. ¦
