Robb & Stucky creates inspired interior design for Golf Estate model home at Sarasota National

The interior design of Sarasota National’s first Golf Estate model home emulates its natural surroundings with an emphasis on organic and natural elements and a classically scaled, tailored look.

WCI Communities, which is developing the 2,400-acre community, selected Robb & Stucky to design the three-bedroom, three-bath Pinehurst model overlooking a conservation area and the community’s 18-hole Gordon Lewis-designed championship golf course.

One of four Golf Estate home designs available at Sarasota National, the Pinehurst offers 2,906 square feet of living space with a formal dining room, a flex room shown as an office in the model and a great room. Robb & Stucky interior designers Jacqueline Cantwell and Howard Firth introduce a transitional design theme with a palette of grays, whites and creams warmed with honeycomb tones.

The model features a wood floor in the den, carpeting in bedrooms and rectangular gray-taupe ceramic tile flooring in main gathering areas. The designers accented great room and dining room walls with gray-hued grasscloth framed in picture molding.

The Pinehurst features a large triangular foyer that immediately introduces its open plan, connecting dining room, kitchen, breakfast nook, flex room and great room and continuing outside through the great room’s two sets of sliding glass doors to the covered lanai.

“You walk in the front door and are welcomed into this big open space,” Ms. Cantwell said. “We wanted a simple, less-is-more approach that showcases the view. There’s no heavy ornamentation in the ceilings because we wanted that simple, clean-line look. We used organic materials such as driftwood, sisal, rattan on the lanai and a bamboo table in the nook to play off the beautiful ornamental grasses in the backyard.”

The model’s kitchen contrasts light and dark with its soft gray walls, charcoal finished cabinetry and white quartzlike countertops. The backsplash complements the look with pale white, cream and gray glass tiles. The kitchen also offers a freestanding breakfast island, a corner walk-in pantry closet and a nook in a bay window.

New Golf Estates start from the mid- $300,000s.

Sarasota National offers a total of 24 designs, including Coach Homes, Carriage Homes, single-family Villas and Grand Villas from 1,375 square feet of living space. Homes start from the high $100,000s.
