Image Awards
The Florida Public Relations Association’s annual Image Awards program recognizes outstanding public relations programs in Florida and encourages and promotes the development of public relations professionalism in the state. Awards are given at three levels: Golden Image, the best program entered in its category; Award of Distinction, for outstanding programs; and Judges’ Award, for programs that achieve maximum results with a minimal budget. The awards were presented for excellence in public relations at the annual FPRA conference at the Naples Grande Beach Resort Aug. 10. won three statewide awards on behalf of its clients. They included two Awards of Distinction and a Judges’ Award for the following:

.. Award of Distinction in the Promotional/ Marketing category for a two-year branding campaign for Physicians’ Primary Care of Southwest Florida
.. Award of Distinction and a Judges Award for “Spend A Night In Instead of a Night Out,” campaign for Southwest Florida Addiction Services.
Southwest Florida International
Airport
was honored with four awards from the Golden Image Awards. The airport won in the following categories:
.. Golden Image Award in the Crisis Communications category for its Crisis Management and Communications
.. Award of Distinction and a Judges’ Award in the Special Events category for the 2010 Local Image Awards.
.. Award of Distinction in the Specialty Item category for its Air Service Appreciation Gift
Estero Fire Rescue
won a Golden Image Award at the Florida Public Relations Association’s Image Awards for the video presentation of the 2009 Estero Fire Rescue Budget. The video was designed to educate residents on the department and its budget requirements for the 2009-2010 year.
ROGERS
Briggs & Rogers
received four awards from the Florida Public Relations Association for events and campaigns produced on behalf of its clients during the past year.
.. The firm received a Golden Image award in the special events category for the Southwest Florida Wine & Food Festival.
.. Healthy Bonita Estero, a campaign produced for Lee Memorial Health System, won a Judges’ Award.
.. Marketing and public relations efforts for Home-Tech, an air conditioning and appliance service and sales company, netted the firm an Award of Distinction in the category of Institutional PR Programs.
.. The website produced for Lee Memorial Health System’s Healthy Bonita Estero campaign received an Award of Distinction in the website category.
SCOTT
Pushing the Envelope Inc.,
owned by Samantha Scott, won an Award of Distinction at the Golden Image Awards Ceremony for work done in collaboration with Internet Services Group of Florida on the PTE website and their integration of social media.

McKee
of the law firm of Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, P.A. received the James A. Dixon Young Lawyer of the Year Award at the recent annual meeting of the Florida Defense Lawyers Association. The award is given annually to a young lawyer who exceeds the standards of excellence, dedication and commitment to the FDLA and its goals.
Ms. McKee received her undergraduate degree from the University of North Florida (summa cum laude) and her law degree from Stetson University College of Law (summa cum laude, Valedictorian).

Leadership Florida Class XXIX
Samira K. Beckwith
has been selected for membership in the Leadership Florida Class XXIX. Ms. Beckwith has served as president and CEO of Hope HealthCare Services since 1991 and has more than 30 years of healthcare and hospice experience. She is past president of the Florida Hospices and Palliative Care Organization, representing Florida’s hospice care providers.
