Swallow test brings new meaning to TV dinner
A new test at Gulf Coast Medical Center allows speech pathologists to see how patients swallow, without an X-ray. The fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing, called FEES, passes a small scope up the nose and down the throat. An attached camera projects a view of the swallow — in full color and real-time — onto a computer screen. Full Story
