Recently a huge Civil War monument in Cleveland was restored and experts learned that what they thought was expensive pink-andyellow marble was actually inexpensive white marble that had been painted — so it was faux. Animal Services offers pet microchipping on Fridays
The Pet Microchip ID Clinics set for Feb. 6, March 13 and April 10 at Lee County Animal Services have been cancelled. Animal Services’ staff veterinarian, Peter Davis, D.V.M., will be available on Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., beginning Jan. 15, to provide an opportunity for pet owners to have their dogs and cats implanted with a microchip ID. Baseball program offered
Bishop Verot Catholic High School will host a six-week Spring Training 2010 baseball program for players in grades 1 through 12 from Jan. 17 to Feb. 21. Bishop Verot head coach Tom LoSauro will direct the program in conjunction with U.S. Baseball Academy. New treatments, seminar offer hope to macular degeneration patients
When Edward Sweeney, a 67-year-old computer programmer from Buckingham, began having trouble with vision in his left eye nearly two years ago, he was diagnosed with wet age-related macular degeneration (wet AMD). Wet AMD is the leading cause of blindness for people over the age of 65 in the U.S. and Europe. This occurs when new blood vessels grow beneath the retina and leak blood and fluid. Full Story
