Roger Daltrey screams into Fort Myers for one show
Who frontman on first solo tour since 1985
SPECIAL TO FLORIDA WEEKLY
DALTREY
With the Who mothballed, at least for now, Roger Daltrey is touring North America as a solo act.
“The Use It Or Lose It Tour“ comes to the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall Friday, Nov. 27, at 8 p.m.
Promising a healthy serving of Who songs (“but they’ll be my versions of them,” Mr. Daltrey said), solo material — including some songs he’s never played live — and covers that pay tribute to his influences and admired contemporaries, Mr. Daltrey relishes the chance to showcase dimensions of his vocal ability that even longtime fans haven’t yet experienced.
The 65-year-old singer ends his tour in Clearwater Nov. 30. He’s expected to dust off material from his nine solo albums. He has, over the years, performed songs by the likes of Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen and Queen, among others, alongside favorites from his Who catalog.
Tickets are $65 and $90 and may be purchased by calling the box office at 481-4849 or online at www. bbmannpah. com. The Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall is located on the Fort Myers campus of Edison State College at the corner of Summerlin Road and College Parkway.
