Water resources conference set

Interested in finding out more about our region’s water resource management, how agencies make decisions to protect our water quality, and some of the many regional programs to restore our vital ecosystems?

Join State Rep. Trudi Williams, Dr. Jerry Jackson (of WGCU’s “Out with the wild things”) and a host of other dynamic speakers at the 19th annual Southwest Florida Water Resources Conference, to be held Friday, Nov. 20, at the Royal Palm Yacht Club, 2360 W. First Street, Fort Myers. The conference will run from 8.30 a.m. until 5 p.m. and includes lunch. The cost is $65 per person, or $4 for students with valid student ID. The conference is open to the public, but attending engineers can earn PDH credits.

The conference is co-sponsored by a consortium of civic-minded professional societies, all with members dedicated to water management or water quality protection: The Florida sections of the American Water Resources Association, American Society of Civil Engineers and the Water Environment Association; the Florida chapter of the Audubon Society; the Florida Engineering Society; and the Southwest Florida Watershed Council.
