COURTESY IMAGES From top: Art from Lennie Jones, Allen Tiller and Philip Heubeck will be shown at an Arts for Act sneak peek Oct. 1. Join Arts for ACT Gallery Oct. 1 for a sneak peek and gallery talk by featured artist Lennie Jones. The event takes place from 6-8 p.m., at the gallery, located at 2265 First Street in downtown Fort Myers.

Then join the gallery from 6-10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, for the opening reception and Art Walk for the October featured artists: Lennie Jones, Allen Tiller and Philip Heubeck. There will be vocal entertainment by the Uptown Girls, Jazzy Kat Stramara and Kim Masters.

Lennie Jones is an entirely self-taught primitive artist from the Florida Everglades. Memories of his uneducated Louisiana daddy's' first sketches and Lennie's eclectic careers as a roots musician, wild animal wrangler and swamp ranger make his art reflect a life of passion, music and soul.

Allen Tiller, a 1978 graduate of the Art Institute of Philadelphia, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1985. Devastated at not being able to paint or draw, his creative spirit found expression through photography. He spent the 1980s photographing the Delaware Valley and Chesapeake Bay areas, while

exploring texture and pattern,

eventually evolving into a series of large abstracts. In 2003, Mr. Tiller moved to Fort Myers and the beauty of Southwest Florida has added to the sources of inspiration that keep his creative spirit alive. He uses the computer to create something fresh from all the experiences of life.

Philip Heubeck is an emerging artist who grew up in Berlin, Germany. He relocated to Fort Myers in 2004. He is an art major and creative writing minor at Florida Gulf Coast University. His acrylic and mixed media paintings and collages explore topics like the sublime beauty of nature, the human subconscious, irrationality and the possibilities it holds, as well as the contrast between randomness and order.

Arts for ACT Gallery provides a quality, contemporary exhibition gallery featuring original art, limited edition prints, giclees, hand-crafted fine crafts, tee shirts, silver and glass bead jewelry, gourd art, raku, clay and art cards.
