GOLDBERG Fort Myers attorney
Scot D. Goldberg has been elected to the Board of Directors of Southwest Florida Addiction Services. Mr. Goldberg is the founding partner of the law firm of Goldberg, Racila, D'Alessandro & Noone LLC, where he practices personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice and criminal law. Prior to that, he was an associate attorney with the law firm of Goldstein, Buckley, Cechman, Rice & Purtz, P.A.. He also served as an assistant state attorney with the State Attorney's Office, 20th Judicial Circuit.
The board of directors of The Foundation for Quality Child Care Inc. announced the appointment of Irene C. Giniat as executive director. The foundation also announced new appointments to its executive committee: James Meerpohl, chair (Wells Fargo Insurance Service); Daniel Griffin, vice chair (Park Avenue Securities/ Alliance Financial Group); Paula F. Kelley, secretary (Kelley, Stiffler, Thomas PLLC); and Catherine J. Palmisano, treasurer (Hughes, Snell & Co., P.A.). Several other community leaders have also joined the foundation's board, including Sally A. Duff, Steven Gibbs, E. Dale Korzec and William A. Robinson. The board of directors overseas the foundation's policies, fund raising, fund distribution and strategic planning efforts.
SIMONTIS Island Coast AIDS Network Inc. has named Jessica Collins its new director of development. Ms. Collins comes to ICAN with a strong background in banking and finance. She is certified for HIV testing and counseling and has taught HIV/AIDS awareness classes at ICAN for two years. She has vast experience in customer relations, marketing, networking and building community relationships. Most recently, she was the Lee County market manager/ vice president at the Bank of Florida.
Andrea Calkins has been named vol- unteer coordinator for The Gulf Coast Humane Society, a nonprofit animal welfare organization. In her new position, Ms. Calkins will be responsible for volunteer orientations, maintaining volunteer records and manning off-site events. She will also produce a newsletter, the Volunteer Voice.
Melissa Simontis has been named director of development for the PACE Center for Girls of Lee County. Ms. Simontis will be responsible for planning and executing the center's fundraising initiatives, overseeing volunteers and promoting the mission of PACE throughout the community. For the past three years, she was the director of development for Island Coast AIDS Network, an HIV/AIDS education and social services nonprofit serving six counties in Southwest Florida.
