Homes selling at record pace as banks unload inventory
Realtors have sold more homes in the first eight months of 2009 then in all of 2005, the height of the real estate boom. In 2005, a total of 9,842 homes were sold. Through August, 11,178 single-family homes have been sold. August figures show a nearly 81 percent increase over August 2008. Full Story
Construction complete on first waterfront resort in Cape
Project to open in November
Construction is complete on The Resort at MarinaVillage at Tarpon Point Marina, company officials said. The $150 million project is Cape Coral's first waterfront resort. Also nearing completion are the Shops at MarinaVillage and the adjacent six-story parking structure. Full Story
Bruce Gora honored by state association
Bruce Gora, founder of Gora/McGahey Architects, has been honored posthumously by the American Institute of Architects Florida State Chapter for his many contributions to the Southwest Florida community. Area foreclosure rates increase
Foreclosure rates in Cape Coral-Fort Myers have increased for the month of July over the same period last year, according to First American CoreLogic, a leading collector of national, state and local data on home prices, foreclosure and delinquency activity, real estate sales volume and mortgage loan activity.
