Florida Gulf Bank reports asset growth
Florida Gulf Bancorp Inc., parent company of Florida Gulf Bank, reports asset growth of 12 percent or $40 million during the first six months of 2009. Total assets were $376 million on June 30. Florida Gulf Bank, which opened in February 2001, is locally owned and operated and has eight full-service banking offices located throughout Lee County. Full Story
Membership jumps at Fort Myers Chamber

Edison State buys commercial building
The Edison State College Board of Trustees has approved the purchase of the former Northern Trust Bank and Trust building on College Parkway. "The close proximity to our district headquarters and the Lee Campus makes this particular building a logical fit for our immediate and long-term plans," said Dr. Kenneth Walker, president of Edison State College.
