The Florida Highway Patrol will partner next week with Stay Alive… Just Drive!, a safe-driving program based in Lee County, to promote safe driving practices, with a primary focus on eliminating distractions. Safety program for Alzheimer's
The Alvin A. Dubin Alzheimer's Resource Center offers a Safety Program for Alzheimer's caregivers in Lee County. The program was created to provide caregivers with tools to implement an emergency plan to prevent crises. Each Safety Program packet includes an emergency plan kit and an identification bracelet for the memory impaired person. Full Story

Cataracts third-leading cause of blindness in U.S.
August is Cataract Awareness Month
Studies suggest that everyone who lives long enough will get cataracts, although there may be some reduced risk for individuals who eat properly, avoid sun exposure and do not smoke. A cataract is not a disease but an aging process similar to graying hair. As the eye ages, the normal lens inside the eye becomes cloudy. Full Story
