Farm-related toys pique collectors
Now that vegetable gardens are in the news — there's one at the White House and cities are encouraging residents to plant them on vacant lots — collectors are looking at farm-related toys with more interest. Toy manufacturers made cast-iron farm toys in the early 1900s, lithographed tin toys by the 1930s and, after World War II, aluminum and plastic toys. Full Story

Children's Advocacy Center capital campaign tops $2 mil
The Children's Advocacy Center of Southwest Florida has passed the $2 million mark in its ongoing Honor Thy Children capital campaign with help of the Lee County Capital Project Funding Program. Driver's license services now available at tax office
The Lee County Tax Collector now offers driver's license services at its South Fort Myers office, located at 15680 Pine Ridge Road. Customer service representatives will be able to assist with all driver's license and identification card services except hazmat endorsement and driving exams. Full Story

Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida Inc. is seeking volunteers to help complete short 20-minute phone interviews of applicants who want to become volunteers for the organization.
