Ocean Roads presents 2nd annual Surf & Song Fest

Three-day event raises money for Blessings in a Backpack

A weekend filled with music and fun is coming to the Reserve Cigar and Wine Bar and the Edison in Fort Myers to benefit the local nonprofit, Blessings in a Backpack.

The money raised will help this unique program feed children grades K-5 in Title 1 public schools that qualify for the Federal Free and Reduced Meal Program. Friday, July 24: Kick-off Party

• 4 p.m. until 1 a.m., hosted by The Edison (no cover)

• Four local artists: Ocean Roads, Eric Malibu, Cadence Wednesday and Acoustic Addiction

• Hourly raffle drawings to benefit the Blessings in a Backpack as well as have giveaways for tickets and other great prizes

Saturday, July 25: Silent Auction

• 6-10 p.m., hosted by the Reserve

• Tickets: $25 each; contact Fritz Caraher at 728-1677

• Special Rock 'n' Roll, sports and art memorabilia up for bid

• Featuring food from Sweet Melissa's Café and more Sunday July 26: Surf and Song Charity Event

• All day outdoor/indoor event at the Reserve, with four stages and 15 bands featuring popular local musicians such as:

• Geek Skwad, Drunk Monkeys, Deb and the Dynamics, Modulation, The New Vinyls, Smack Daddy, DVS, Headliner: Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers

• Gates open at 11 a.m. and the show is from noon to 2 a.m.

• Tickets are on sale for $10 in advance at the Reserve, Harley Davidson of Fort Myers, Westcoast Watersports and the Edison. They are $15 at the door. For more information, call 728-1677 or visit www. myspace.com/surfandsongfestival.
