Home-Tech funding two Habitat homes
Company's contribution exceeds $500,000 since 2002
Home-Tech, a local air conditioning and major appliances service and sales company, recently donated funds received through the Community Contribution Tax Credit Program to Habitat for Humanity. This year's $100,000 donation brings Home-Tech's total giving to $522,000, which has provided 12 homes for local families since 2002. Full Story

Project on schedule for grand opening in November 2009
Construction is nearing completion on The Resort at MarinaVillage at Tarpon Point Marina, announced Grosse Pointe Development Company President Jim Crumbie. BBL Construction of Florida is putting the finishing touches on the retail component of the project, the Shops at MarinaVillage and the adjacent six-story parking structure. Full Story
Lee building permits down in June
Builders in unincorporated Lee County pulled 24 permits for single-family houses in June, collectively valued at more than $6.1 million. That compares to 50 permits issued during May and 56 issued in June 2008. Also in June, permits were issued for two multi-family units, compared to eight the previous month and 14 in June 2008.
