Construction is nearing completion on The Resort at MarinaVillage at Tarpon Point Marina, announced Grosse Pointe Development Company President Jim Crumbie.

BBL Construction of Florida is putting the finishing touches on the retail component of the project, the Shops at MarinaVillage and the adjacent six-story parking structure. This area of MarinaVillage will be a commercial, residential and retail center, within Tarpon Point Marina that will be open to the public. Pavilions situated along a waterfront promenade will offer boutiques and retail outlets, a day spa and fitness center. Restaurant plans include two casual restaurants with indoor and outdoor dining. Both will feature marina views, a full bar and award-winning cuisine.

Interior work on The Resort at MarinaVillage includes the installation of cabinets, trim and tile as well as interior design and furnishing components by Robb & Stucky. Exterior details like landscaping are also being placed.

"We are in the home stretch of this," said Mr. Crumbie. "We're working now to finish the interiors, furnishing, and landscaping in time for our opening in November 2009. At which point the operations of the resort will be taken over by SunStream Hotels & Resorts.

The Resort at MarinaVillage is Cape Coral's first waterfront resort and will feature fully-furnished, two- and threebedroom condo/hotel residences ranging in size from 1,235 to 2,195 square feet, featuring master suites, grand rooms and guest suites and private dining terraces.

Owners of the residences at MarinaVillage will enjoy all the amenities of Tarpon Point Marina, plus concierge and spa services, room service, housekeeping and access to a resort-style pool, spa and deck. The Resort at MarinaVillage will be managed by Fort Myers-based Sun- Stream Hotels & Resorts.

Fractional ownerships are available starting at $74,000.

Upon completion, Tarpon Point Marina will have 976 single-family homes, condominium homes, park homes and lake-view homes.

Situated at the mouth of the Caloosahatchee River, Tarpon Point Marina is located at 5902 Silver King Blvd. The sales center is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays, and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays. To learn more about Tarpon Point Marina, call 549-8500, or go to www.tarponpoint.com.
