Local florist receives Florida Master Designer Certification

Mary Lou Mack of In Bloom Flowers & Gifts in Fort Myers was awarded the prestigious designation of Florida State Master Designer at the recent Florida State Florists' Association 88th Annual Convention held in St. Petersburg June 5-7. Candidates achieve this certification by successfully demonstrating their floral knowledge and design abilities before an accredited panel of evaluators.

The Florida State Florists' Association, founded in 1921, is a professional trade association for retailers, wholesalers, growers, manufactures, brokers, shippers and importers. Its goal is to provide a variety of benefits, services and educational programs for the advancement of the florist industry in Florida.

Having a staff of master designers is what sets In Bloom Flowers & Gifts apart. Locally owned and operated, In Bloom Flowers & Gifts uses creativity and artistry to provide unique designs.

"Anyone can put together flower "arrangements," but using floral knowledge

and design techniques is what creates a "design," said Steve Eagan, Florida state-certified Master Designer and owner of In Bloom Flowers & Gifts. "To accomplish this certification, we go through extensive training, learning everything about flowers and using that knowledge to create a successful design."
