SULLIVAN Mike Sullivan has joined the staff of Community Cooperative Ministries Inc. as chief development officer. In his new role, Mr. Sullivan will be responsible for communicating with churches, civic clubs, corporations and other community groups that support CCMI with volunteers and financial gifts. He will also be responsible for grant writing and establishing a "Leave a Legacy" society that will include donors who wish to include CCMI in their estate planning. For the past 15 years, Mr. Sullivan served as development director for ECHO (Educational Concerns for Hunger Organization), a nonprofit, inter-denominational Christian organization in North Fort Myers assisting a global network of missionaries, development and agricultural workers fighting hunger.
Community volunteer Cole Peacock has been named board chairman of the American Red Cross of Lee County, taking over for Randy Toscano.
New members of the board of directors include: Sonya Sawyer (Home- Tech), James Browder (Lee County School District), Pete Doragh (Doragh Law Firm) and Greg Frith (Fireservice Disaster Kleenup). Several community partners were recognized for their outstanding support of the Lee County chapter in the past fiscal year: Philos Award - Oswald Trippe and Co. Inc.; Disaster Response - Publix; Preparedness - Army Corps of Engineers and B & I Contractors. An inaugural award was also presented, the Margaret Mazzei award. In honor of current and longtime Red Cross board member Margaret Mazzei, this was award, given to Mazzei, is in recognition of a long history of both philanthropic and volunteer participation with the Red Cross.
WEBSTER Gail Webster, president of IMA Creative Inc., a fullservice advertising, marketing and public relations agency, has been named to the board of directors of the Gulf Coast Humane Society. The Gulf Coast Humane Society is a private 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal welfare organization that receives no federal, state, or county funding and relies solely on donations and fundraising events to fuel its mission of caring for the orphaned and displaced animals of Southwest Florida.
The PACE Center for Girls Inc., in Immokalee, has announced the addition of Roger Brown and Gayle Nelson to its board of directors. Mr. Brown retired as president of Polaris Marketing Services and is past president of the Universal Unitarian Congregation of Naples, past president and co-founder of the Naples chapter of Americans United for Separation of Church & State and has been on the Collier County Habitat for Humanity PAC. Ms. Nelson is vice president, administration for Qorval LLC, a Naples-based business advisory firm providing management services across a broad array of industries. Prior to coming to Qorval, she was director for marketing for Purolator Products Co. in Tulsa, Okla.
