Fourth of July

Estero: The Estero Historical Society hosts a reading of The Declaration of Independence at 10 a.m. at the Estero Community Park off Corkscrew Road. Bring folding chairs and water. 947-2346.

San Carlos Park: The 19th annual San Carlos Park Parade starts at 8:30 a.m., followed by festivities at Three Oaks Community Park. www. sancarlospark.org or 590-69901.

Bonita Springs: The Star-Spangled Bonita Fourth of July Celebration starts with the 51st annual parade along Old 41 Road at 9 a.m. The city's Party in the Park starts at 6 p.m., with food vendors, a laser light show, live entertainment, a kids' water slide, face-painting, relay races, a pie-baking contest and a hot dog-eating competition. Sanibel Island: The parade down Periwinkle Way starts at 9:30 a.m. At noon, there's a scavenger-like Road Rally. Fireworks start at dusk at the Sanibel Causeway. 472-1080 or www. sanibel-captiva.org.

Fort Myers Beach: Festivities kick off with a 10 a.m. parade up Estero Boulevard. Fireworks start 15 minutes after sunset from the Fort Myers Beach Fishing Pier. 454-7500 or www.fmbchamber. com.

Cape Coral: Starting at 4 p.m., music sparks a street party with bands, a kids' carnival and arts and crafts until 10 p.m. Fireworks start at dusk. 549-6900 or www.capecoralchamber.com.

Cape Harbour: A Great American Picnic will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the waterfront at Cape Harbour in Cape Coral. Admission and parking are free. www.capeharbour.com or 945-6116.

Fort Myers: The City of Fort Myers' Fourth of July festivities will include a free fireworks show starting at 9:30 p.m. from a barge in the Caloosahatchee River across from Centennial Park.

Naples Cruise: The new Naples Princess luxury yacht will be the site of a Fourth of July fund-raising cruise complete with food and fireworks. Boarding begins at 7 p.m. and the boat departs at 7:30 p.m. from Port-O-Call Way. Proceeds will benefit the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra and its youth music education programs.
