Office 2007

Office applications can improve your productivity at work and at home. This class provides an introduction to common office suite applications such as word processors, spreadsheets, presentation software, and desktop publishing programs. Microsoft Office Word, Excel 2007 and PowerPoint, in particular, will be utilized in some depth. It will be held from July, 20, 22, 27 and 29 from 5-8 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. Cost is $145.

Introduction to Accounting For Non-Accountants

The purpose of this course is to offer basic information on accounting systems and concepts used in business. Instructors will discuss what accounting systems need to do and participants will review basic financial statements, cash flows and controls within accounting systems. The class will be held on Wednesday, July 22, from 5-8 p.m. Cost is $65.

Adobe Photoshop Cs3 For Beginners

This course is intended for beginners and will introduce the essential tools and techniques through hands-on exercises. Students will learn how to manipulate and create images using Photoshop CS3. At the end of the course students will have a better understanding of the available tools and techniques. Learn the tips and techniques that can save you time, improve results and open a new world of design possibilities. Discover the easiest ways to create, edit, color correct, touch up, size and prepare images for your printed or electronic documents. Highlights include, tips for top-quality scans, using layers for speed and impact. It will be held on Saturday, July 25, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Cost is $160.

David Essel - "Life Coach" Certification Level 1

Edison State College has partnered with author and television/radio host David Essel (de.com) to bring "Life Coach Certification, Level 1." Earn your certificate in six weeks. Classes will be held from 6-9 p.m. Tuesdays beginning July 28 for four weeks. Cost is $850.

Personal Fitness Trainer Certification

This challenging course is taught over a five-week period for better retention and skill competency. The National Exam is held on the sixth week. This course is formatted as a 50-hour program and is comprised of 15 hours of lecture, 15 hours of practical gym training and a 20-hour internship. It covers topics including biomechanics, exercise physiology, fitness testing, equipment usage and health assessment. The class will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays from Aug. 8 through Sept. 12. Cost is $499.
