The play is performed at 7 and 8:30 p.m. Friday July 3, while exhibits are open from 6 to 10 p.m. during Art Walk.

The play, "Variations on the Death of Trotsky," by David Ives, is a comic look at the assassination of the famous Russian revolutionary killed by his Mexican gardener, who smashed a mountain climber's axe into his skull. The play consists of eight quick scenes, each ending in the death of Trotsky. The show stars Robert Feigenblatt, Louise Wigglesworth and Michael Dunsworth.

The featured artist for July's Art Walk at the art center is Charlie Brown, who specializes in Gyotaku, the Japanese art of fish prints. Mr. Brown, an artist with Sanibel's Tower Gallery, is a fisherman and Lee County native.

Finally, the art center will feature an interactive projected labyrinth of light on the floor of the atrium, inviting guests to walk through and experience the illuminated effects of light and dark. The mesmerizing display, sponsored by Labyrinth Consultants Inc., is designed to help visitors find their true center.
