Writers seminar June 25 at Barnes & Noble

'Children of the Everglades' exhibit celebrates Seminole tradition
"Children of the Everglades" is on exhibit at Southwest Florida International Airport as part of the "Art in Flight" program. Outdoor 'Stamobile' sculpture installed at Gannon's Antiques
A "Stamobile" by a Fort Myers sculptor was installed at the entry of Gannon's Antiques & Art Mall on June 19. Pictured are Ursula and Richard Gannon, and the artist, Ralph Bigletti, right. President Truman's pianist featured on 'Gulf Coast Live!'
The personal pianist of President Harry S. Truman, George Manos, will be the featured guest on WGCU's radio show "Gulf Coast Live! Arts Edition" at noon Thursday, July 9, on 90.1/91.7 FM. Mr. Manos, a Naples resident, will be in studio with "Arts Edition" host Amy Tardif. Full Story
'Now That's Entertainment' draws enthusiastic crowds

Cirque Du Soleil to present 'Saltimbanco' in Estero
Cirque du Soleil's "Saltimbanco" arena tour will stop at Estero's Germain Arena for a limited engagement from July 8-12. The world premiere of "Saltimbanco" was held in Montreal on April 23, 1992, and featured a cast of 36 performers. Full Story
Sugar Red Drive plays at Indigo Room July 2
The band Sugar Red Drive will perform at the Indigo Room in downtown Fort Myers on Thursday, July 2. Sugar Red Drive is set to release its self-titled debut album on Aug. 18 through Megaforce Distribution. The band's single, "One More Time," is currently being played on Active Rock Radio and will also appear in the new thriller "The Crypt" by Craig McMohan. Full Story
Alva artist's work on display at Burroughs Home July 3-17
Alva artist Richalene Kelsay will be the featured artist at the Burroughs Home for two weeks beginning July 3. She uses both watercolors and oils to paint her traditional scenes and figures. The City of Fort Myers announces that grant opportunities are again available to artists and arts and culture organizations within the city. The city recognizes the importance of arts in the community and encourages artistic quality and program innovation by providing grants up to $10,000 for organizations and up to $3,000 for individual artists. Young artists in Lee County deserve a full palette of paints, brushes with all the bristles and a blank white canvas to explore their creativity. Forbidden History Exhibit extended through Aug. 1
