Junior League making plans for 27th Taste of the Town Nov. 8

The Junior League of Fort Myers has set the date for the 27th annual Taste of the Town festival. The event will be held Sunday, Nov. 8, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Centennial Park in downtown Fort Myers. Traditionally, the event is held on the first Sunday in November, but this year, the Junior League voted to move the event to the second Sunday of November to make sure the event wouldn't conflict with Halloween weekend or other activities already scheduled.

Taste of the Town is one of the largest family-oriented food and entertainment festivals in Southwest Florida, attracting an estimated 15,000 people annually. For the last 26 years, the Junior League has partnered with local restaurants to allow the community to "taste" their signature dishes. In addition to the food and drinks available, there will be a variety of bands performing on stage, plenty of entertainment and activities for children and adults of all ages.

CALLING ALL RESTAURANTS

The Junior League invites local restaurants to sign up early to participate in this year's event. All restaurants that sign up on or before July 18 will receive a $50 discount and be listed in early promotional flyers and press releases. The Junior League annual Taste of the Town provides an opportunity for local restaurants to promote their business and show off their signature dishes to a crowd of 15,000 guests.
