Million dollar-plus market shows signs of life
There is a renewed interest among buyers in the luxury home market as sales of properties priced above $1 million become more prevalent, according to John R. Wood Realtors. After seeing sales in this sector considerably drop off late last year, the Wood Company reported increased activity in 2009, with 74 sales so far this year. Full Story

Stock Development continued to repeat strong sales for the month of May, posting 26 new home sales at its communities Lely Resort in Naples and Paseo in Fort Myers. The company's sale's volume totaled $7.2 million for an average price of $292,000 during May. Full Story

Home permit activity up in Lee County
Builders in unincorporated Lee County pulled 50 permits for single-family houses in May, collectively valued at more than $16 million. That compares to 39 permits issued during April and 47 issued in May 2008. Also in May, permits were issued for eight multi-family units, compared to two the previous month and 20 in May 2008.
