Green Market features locally grown, caught, cultivated foods

There's good news for all food enthusiasts. An exclusive selection of local, fresh, sustainable and organic foods and other products will be for sale at the Lee County Alliance of the Arts' weekly Green Market beginning June 6 from 8 a.m. to noon.

The Green Market will be offering fresh seafood from Andy's Island Seafood of Matlacha, artisanal cheese from 55° Cool Wine & Cheese, organically grown produce from Rabbit Run Farm, artisanal bread from the Bread Basket, honey, tropical fruit, preserves, jams, salsas from Paradise Gardens of Pine Island, and other green and healthful products — all locally grown, caught and cultivated.

Other vendors include: Cowgirl Kitchen with homemade and healthy granola; Happy Acres the ever-changing student artist group; plants and fresh cut flowers from Balloons & Flowers To Go and some of former Ada's Chef Brooke's vegetarian creations. Chef Brook now has her own Natural Café in Fort Myers.

Green Market has a natural solution for anyone's taste. Visit the Alliance for the Arts every Saturday morning to stock up on organic, locally grown foods from the all natural selection.

The Alliance for the Arts supports the artists and arts organizations in our area as the state-designated Local Arts Agency for Lee County. The Alliance for the Arts galleries are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays, located at 10091 McGregor Blvd., just south of Colonial Boulevard.
