Pierre Deux at IDC introduces spring/summer collection

A veranda table and chairs featuring peel-woven rattan hand-rubbed with an antique stained finish are included in Pierre Deux's "An Invitation to Celebrate Spring"collection. At Pierre Deux, the beauty is in the detail. For example, the intricate floral of the Laval Bergére, an authentic reproduction of a Louis XV armchair, crafted from hardwood with a hand-rubbed fruitwood finish and upholstered in Pierre Deux's exclusive Laval fabric. This chair is just one of many new pieces of furniture, upholstery, wallpaper, and accessories being introduced in Pierre Deux's Spring/Summer 2009 Collection at the International Design Center.

The spring/summer collection includes several design groupings. Outdoor elegance is the theme of "An invitation to Celebrate Spring." It features anything and everything needed to host the perfect garden party: A French Country Island style veranda table and chairs, hand-painted tabletop, ceramic vases and urns, and a replica of an antique French street lantern. Pierre Deux has become known for its toile artistry, and the spring collection is no exception. Toile is a popular decorating pattern

depicting a pastoral theme that tells a story. Toile pieces can be layered or mixed with different colors to add depth and character to a room. Although toile patterns are usually found on wall coverings and fabrics, Pierre Deux has given it a twist by displaying it on mahogany furniture. The La Fete Commode is a two-drawer chest completely covered in toile and given a hand-rubbed antique finish.

Additionally, Pierre Deux is premiering its first ever line of fabrics to meet environmentally friendly standards. In two styles and three colors, these new fabrics are both beautiful and good for the planet.
