The Pearl Jam Memorial Block Party will be held this week in Cape Coral. The event is set for Friday, May 22, from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m.; Saturday May 23, 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.; and Sunday, May 24, 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.

Tickets are $10 daily or $15 for a threeday pass. Kids 12 and under are free. The party takes place at Big John's Plaza off 47th Terrace in Cape Coral, in the Pearl Lounge parking lot.

A portion of The Pearl Jam Memorial Block Party proceeds is benefiting Journeys Academy, a not-for-profit school for children with disabilities. The school serves children from Lee and Collier counties.

The event includes live music from more than 25 different local, regional and national acts, plus eating contests from Hooters and Stevie Tomatoes, as well as other games and challenges. Fifty-plus vendors from all over Lee and Collier will be selling food, merchandise and services. A kids' section will be open daily.

There will also be a free drive-home service available if needed for those who take advantage of the drink specials and dollar drafts.
