FGCU grads' art on display
Brant Mandala by Danielle Brant The Art Galleries and Alumni Association at Florida Gulf Coast University will present a premiere exhibition of works from art students titled "The Formers: Current Works of FGCU Art Graduates." To celebrate this first-of-its-kind exhibition, an opening reception with the artists will be held 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, May 22, in the main gallery of the Arts Complex.
This exhibition showcases local and national alumni artists working in a variety of mediums while pursuing careers as artists, art teachers, coordinators, directors, musicians, designers and curators.
"We are honored to have the alumni share their continuing stories and works with us on this exhibit," said interim gallery director Anica Sturdivant.
Exhibiting artists are: Carly Brock, Briena Harmening, Christina Miller, Christopher Brown, Danielle Brant, Susan Merritt, Deanna Saracki, Dena Ewing, Ellen Boliek, Ellen Edmeades, Elodie Cotton, Harmony Rio, Jaquella Masar, Sharon Mammano, Jeff Lewis, Jeffrey Scott Lewis, Jessica Osceola, Kathy Robinson, Lindsey Wollard, Megan Kissinger and Scott Guelcher.

The Arts Complex is located on FGCU's main campus on Ben Hill Griffin Parkway, east of I-75 between exits 123 and 128. Free parking is available in Lot 7 for Arts Complex visitors. Parking passes are available at the parking booth located along the university's entrance.
