Theatre Conspiracy returns to the Foulds Theatre May 22
"Mom's the Word" will open at Foulds Theatre on May 22 at 8 p.m. Theatre Conspiracy is returning to the Foulds Theatre with the opening of the comedy "Mom's the Word" on May 22, at 8 p.m.
"The Foulds Theatre is a great location for our work," says Theatre Conspiracy's producing artistic director, Bill Taylor. "I am looking forward to working with the Alliance (for the Arts) and its staff on future shows."
Lydia Black, executive director of the Lee County Alliance of the Arts, said the Alliance is "excited to partner with Theater Conspiracy to offer a full 2009-2010 season at the Foulds. We are always looking for ways to better support performance art and this is one opportunity to do just that."
Hysterical, emotional, and ecstatic, "Mom's The Word" is a chorus line of confessional anecdotes and vignettes combined to create the mother of all comedies. Without the rose-colored lens treatment, "Mom's The Word" is a hilarious, intimate look at motherhood. The multiple vignettes that form the play cover everything from leaky boobs and dirty diapers to car seats and playground falls. The production stars Lauren Drexler, Kathy Grey, Annie Wagner, Lisa Marie and Tiffany Allen and runs through June 13.
Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. with one Saturday matinee at 2 p.m. on May 30. Tickets are $20 or $10 for students with ID and can be reserved by calling Theatre Conspiracy at 936-3239. Alliance members receive a $2 off discount to all Theatre Conspiracy Productions. The Foulds Theatre is located inside the Alliance of the Arts, 10091 McGregor Blvd. Fort Myers.
The Alliance for the Arts galleries are open from 9 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. For information, visit www.artinlee.org.
