World Laughter Day celebration set

Join a worldwide celebration to promote joy, good health and world peace through laughter. This free celebration will run 9 to 11 a.m. Sunday, May 3, at Lynn Hall Park's beach near the fishing pier. It's at 950 Estero Blvd., Fort Myers Beach, with certified Laughter Yoga instructors Meg Scott and Ellen Poage.

Laughter Yoga is a combination of laughing, yoga breathing and playful activities and one of Lee County Parks and Recreation's newest activities for residents, tourists and snowbirds.

Laughter Yoga helps boost the immune system, reduces stress and anxiety, lifts mild depression, improves circulation, increases lung capacity, exercises the abdomen and diaphragm, and — participants say — it just feels good. Learn more about it at www.laughteryoga.org.

Lee County Parks and Recreation hosts Laughter Clubs at Lynn Hall Park on Fort Myers Beach at 8 a.m. every Friday on the beach by the park pier, 950 Estero Blvd., and at Wa-Ke-Hatchee Rec Center, 16355 Summerlin Road, Fort Myers, on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 - 7 p.m. Call 432-2154 for details.

No registration is necessary. Wear loosefitting clothing, bring a towel and show up. Contact Meg Scott for more details at (614) 216-9371 or megscott35@yahoo.com.
