Married couple returns as leads in 'Wedding Singer'

J. Michael Zygo and wife Jillian Zygo. J. Michael Zygo and wife Jillian Zygo. Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre presents the romantic musical comedy, "The Wedding Singer," playing April 16 through June 6. Dubbed "one big party," "The Wedding Singer" is based on the 1998 hit film starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore.

Robbie Hart is New Jersey's favorite wedding singer and the life of the party until his fiancée leaves him at the altar. Shot through the heart, Robbie makes every wedding as disastrous as his own until he meets a warm-hearted waitress named Julia Sullivan.

The role of Robbie Hart is played by J. Michael Zygo and the waitress named Julia who wins Robbie's heart is played by his wife in real life, Jillian Zygo. Audiences may remember the Zygos from lead roles in "The Full Monty." They met more a decade years ago when they attended the same college in New York. They have worked together on more than 30 theatrical productions across the United States, including the National Tour of "Oklahoma!"

"The Wedding Singer," they will be celebrating their fourth wedding anniversary on May 14.

Performances of "The Wedding Singer" are Tuesday through Sunday evenings with selected matinees. Starting in May, performances are Wednesday through Sunday evenings with selected matinees. Ticket prices range from $25 to $53 with group discounts available for parties of 20 or more.
