Edison State offers new degree in health information management
The Edison State College Board of Directors has unanimously approved a new associate's of science degree program in health information management. HIM is an outgrowth of the medical records department in area health care facilities. President Barack Obama recently mandated all medical records convert to an electronic system in the next four years. Full Story
Leeway mini transponders now available to customers
A new sticker transponder called Lee- Way Mini will be available to LeeWay customers April 1. The new transponder utilizes backscatter technology and does not require a battery for operation. It must be adhered to the windshield in order for the device to read. Full Story

February traffic slightly down at Southwest Florida International During February, 809,990 passengers traveled through Southwest Florida International Airport, a decrease of 4.2 percent compared to February 2008. Foster families needed by Lee Animal Services
Lee County Animal Services is seeking foster homes for many of its resident pets. Foster homes for cats are especially needed as the start of kitten season is only a few weeks away. The shelter is already over crowed with cats and the intake of felines typically increases from 500 cats per month to 700 per month from May through October. Full Story
