Condo named Florida Community of the Year
Pointe Royale singled out for excellence
COURTESY PHOTO Pointe Royale, in downtown Fort Myers was named "Florida Community of the Year" by the Florida Community Association Journal. Pointe Royale, a Fort Myers condominium community, won three of the 2009 Florida Communities of Excellence Awards and was named "Florida Community of the Year." Created to identify and promote innovative solutions and best practices in maintaining and improving the quality of life for residents of community associations throughout the state, the awards were presented by The Florida Community Association Journal and Becker & Poliakoff, P.A.
Nine condominium and homeowners associations statewide were recognized for achievement in addressing the needs and concerns of residents and surrounding communities in five independently judged categories: environmental initiatives, disaster preparedness, communications, safety and security, and civic involvement.
Pointe Royale won the top award and was honored as the first ever "Florida Community of the Year."
The community, located in the downtown Fort Myers River District, also won the awards for safety and security, and civic involvement.
