LAEA Exhibit - Young artists across Lee County have been painting, sculpting, drawing and welding to prepare for the annual Lee County Arts Education Association exhibit hosted by the Lee County Alliance for the Arts. Students from elementary to high school will be displaying work in every medium imaginable April 2 through May 2 in the Alliance galleries. More than 45 participating teachers, elementary through middle school will select pieces of work to cover the Alliance gallery walls ceiling to floor. Multimedia collaborative - Painting, sculpture, raku, mixed media, digital photography, soft fabric sculpture, villanelles, sonnets, renga, ballads, free verse - the range of artistic materials and poetic forms to be presented at the Alliance for the Arts at 7 p.m. Friday, April 3, will showcase new work by 13 Southwest Florida artists and 13 poets who have collaborated to produce 26 new Art Poems. Art Poems are artworks inspired by poems and poems inspired by artworks. Poets will perform their poems while the artists speak about creating a new artwork from a poem.
