Earth Day 2009 features theme of family/fitness
In partnership with Tarpon Bay Explorers and "Ding" Darling Wildlife Society-Friends of the Refuge, J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge will host Earth Day 2009 on Saturday, April 1, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The theme is "Reconnect: Earth, Family & Fitness." Free activities will include giveaways to the first 200 kids, bike use (on a first come basis), bike tours, family yoga, wildlife programs, kayak rental and tour discounts, nature crafts, and fresh-brewed shade-grown coffee.
DDWS is a non-profit, friends-of-therefuge organization that supports the Education Center, "Ding" Darling Days, and other educational programs at the refuge.
