Biogeneticist launches series covering health and science

KLAUSNER KLAUSNER BIG ARTS on Sanibel will present a set of lectures that will focus on the topic of health and science. The first speaker is biogeneticist Dr. Richard Klausner, who will talk about the genetic revolution in medicine Thursday, April 2, at 7:30 p.m.

Dr. Klausner was the global health executive director of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation's Global Health

program, and is currently engaged as an independent consultant for biotech and global health as a managing director of The Column Group, a strategy-based venture fund.

He has served as chief of the cell biology and metabolism branch of the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, and is the author of more than 300 scientific articles and several books. Dr. Klausner served as a liaison to the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.
