The Free File Alliance reminds eligible taxpayers to take advantage of its free tax preparation and e-filing services before the April 15 tax deadline. More than 98 million taxpayers with an adjusted gross income of $56,000 or less can visit the IRS Web site, www.irs.gov to receive step-by-step help preparing and e-filing their federal taxes through the Free File Alliance. Foundation Fighting Blindness to hold third annual VisionWalk March 28
The Foundation Fighting Blindness Inc. will be hosting the third annual Southwest Florida VisionWalk on Saturday, March 28, beginning at 9 a.m. at Lakes Regional Park. . Matthew Peverada was arrested in Portland, Maine, in December and charged with attempting to rob Dipietro's Market. His first attempt, at about 4 p.m., was rebuffed, but he announced that he'd be back at 11 p.m., and that they'd better have some money for him. He returned, and police were waiting. Full Story

Pump It Up! Fitness event on tap for girls
