BERRY John Berry, vice president of field operations with McGarvey Development Company, has earned Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design accreditation from the

U.S. Green Building Council. LEED is the nationally accepted benchmark for eco-friendly building practices. Mr. Berry has worked for McGarvey Development Company for more than 23 years, overseeing the construction of office, flex, tilt-wall and retail buildings. In addition, he also has experience in residential construction, providing hands-on experience in building custom homes.

Mark Valin, project manager for Wright Construction Group Inc., has been qualified by the U.S. Green Building Council as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design accredited professional. LEED professional accreditation distinguishes building processionals with the knowledge and skills to successfully manage projects for clients that wish to acquire a LEED Certification for a construction project. LEED Certification provides independent, third-party verification that a building project meets the highest green building and performance measures. Mr. Valin is a licensed contractor who has worked for Wright Construction Group for 10 years.

VALIN Carlos Urzola has been named the new director of business development for Punta Gorda-based MK Construction. Mr. Urzola's background consists of 20 years of domestic and international experience in the field of architecture. He will lead the firm's client account development and service efforts, proposals, and other business development initiatives. He is also a member of the Lee County Hispanic Affairs Advisory Board Committee and the Lee County Equal Opportunity Board.

Ken Smith has been named the February sales leader for the South Florida division of Pulte Homes, Inc. He is a sales associate at Sandoval, a Cape Coral masterplanned community developed by The Bonita Bay Group, where Pulte Homes is building several neighborhoods, including the carriage homes of Somerville and the single family homes of Sutherland. Mr. Smith's professional experience includes two decades of district and regional management with national clothing and retail chains. He joined Pulte Homes one year ago.
