Jewish Film Fest under way in Lee
The 2009 Jewish Film Festival of Southwest Florida is under way, with a double feature, "Fish Out of Water" and "Unsettled,'' airing at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 15, at the Regal Bell Tower Cinemas in Fort Myers. Double feature tickets are $12.
"A Fish Out of Water" is a romantic comedy about a new immigrant from Argentina and his relationship with his Hebrew teacher at the Absorption Center.
"Unsettled" is set during the Gaza withdrawal. The film is about a generation on the front lines of a nation's battle against itself.
"Love and Dance" is showing at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 19, at the Bell Tower Cinemas. It features a man caught in the middle of the cultural conflict raging between his Russian-born mother and his Israeli father. Tickets are $8.
"I Have Never Forgotten You: The Life and Legacy of Simon Wiesenthal" airs at the Bell Tower Cinemas at 4 p.m. Monday, March 23, and 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 24. The film is a comprehensive look at the life and legacy of Simon Wiesenthal, the famed Nazi hunter and humanitarian. Narrated by Academy Award-winning actress Nicole Kidman, it features interviews with longtime Wiesenthal associates, government leaders from around the world, friends and family members - many of whom have never discussed the legendary Nazi hunter and humanitarian on camera. Tickets are $8.
