Permit activity in Lee County still slow

Builders in unincorporated Lee County pulled 25 permits for single-family houses in February, collectively valued at more than $9.3 million. That compares to 13 permits issued for the previous month and 58 issued in February 2008.

Also in February, permits were issued for eight multi-family units, compared to four the previous month and 14 in February 2008.

Commercial permitting was valued at more than $10.3 million for 15 permits in February, compared to $1.2 million the previous month and more than $16.1 million in February 2008.

Lee County Community Development oversees planning, zoning, development, and building services, environmental review, building inspection and code enforcement for the unincorporated areas of Lee County.
