The Duprees bring spirit of rock 'n' roll to Sanibel
SPECIAL TO FLORIDA WEEKLY
The Duprees BIG ARTS presents The Duprees at 8 p.m. Friday, March 13, in Schein Performance Hall. Tickets are $41 floor, $46 loge, available at BIG ARTS Marks Box Office.
Since the birth of their unmistakable sound on "You Belong to Me," a top 10 hit in 1962, and continuing with "My Own True Love," "Have You Heard," and dozens of others, their outstanding vocal harmonies have entertained audiences in major venues throughout the world.
In 2006, The Duprees were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame, and they have received numerous proclamations in recent years. Lead singer Tommy Petillo's dynamic vocals are the essence of what has always been the heart and soul of The Duprees. Phil Granito, first tenor, has one of the most unique voices in the business. Bass, baritone, and falsetto tenor Tony Testa is the coordinator and master of ceremonies for the group, with a personality that lights up the stage. Jimmy Spinelli, second tenor, is a veteran of the business who brings an energy and style to the stage that is unsurpassed.
The concert is sponsored Bailey's General Store.
