Historian lectures at Beth Tikvah
Historian Gerald Ziedenberg will continue with the second and third lectures in his three-part series at Beth Tikvah of Naples. Mr. Ziedenberg, who retired after a successful career in retail pharmacy, later studied at the University of Toronto, becoming a specialist in Modern European and American History. He is best known as a speaker on topics dealing with Modern Jewish History. In both the U. S. and Canada, he lectures at synagogues, churches, youth groups, civic associations, and other organizations.
At 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, he will speak on "Israel Today and Lessons from the Past." His talk will include reflections on the 2006 war in Lebanon and the recent Gaza conflict.
At 7:30 p. m. Monday, March 23, Mr. Ziedenberg's topic will be "Jewish Resistance and the Holocaust in Russia." This presentation will help put the acclaimed film "Defiance" into a broader historical perspective.
