COURTESY PHOTO The former Bridge restaurant on Fort Myers Beach will open soon as Doc Ford's Rum Bar & Grill. Sanibel's popular Doc Ford's Rum Bar & Grill is scheduled to open on Fort Myers Beach this spring. The establishment, named for the fictional character created by New York Times best-selling author Randy Wayne White, will be moving into the building that was occupied by another local landmark, the Bridge restaurant.

The new Doc Ford's Rum Bar & Grill venture is a partnership between Marty and Brenda Harrity, owners of the original Doc Ford's, and Mark Marinello of Sanibel.

Doc Ford's Rum Bar & Grill is a favorite with Sanibel residents and tourists. According to the Harrity's, diners can look forward to the same fresh and flavorful produce, meats and seafood that are served up with a tropical flair and which have become a fundamental part of the fare that draws so many to the Sanibel location.

Check Doc Ford's Web site www.docfordsofsanibel. com for details of the Grand Opening.
