Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. sheds scholarly light on the complex life, legend and legacy of Abraham Lincoln, America's 16th president, from Illinois to Gettysburg to Washington, D.C. Gates addresses many controversies surrounding Lincoln — race, equality, religion, politics, depression — by carefully interpreting evidence from those who knew him and those who study him today. Re-airs: Sunday, Feb. 15 at 5 p.m.

. Yanni: Voices - Thursday, Feb. 12, at 8 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Popular performer Yanni and four young vocalists — Nathan Pacheco, Chloe, Ender Thomas and Leslie Mills — combine talents to offer an evening of new compositions and Yanni classics. The program features a behindthe scenes preview of the music from the new CD, Yanni: Voices, and the new concert tour.

. American Masters - "Jerome Robbins: Something to Dance About" - Wednesday, Feb. 18, at 9 p.m.

In spite of his controversial life, no one disputes the place that Jerome Robbins holds as the pre-eminent director/ choreographer of American musical theater, universally respected for his unparalleled artistry. He transformed Broadway with "West Side Story," "Gypsy" and "Fiddler on the Roof." The son of an immigrant deli owner, Robbins forged a career in ballet, and was dogged by his decision in 1953 to name names for the Congressional House Committee on Un-American Activities.
